Technical Account Manager
- About the role:
Retail Directions are looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager who can engage with our current and prospective clients in consultative selling processes .
The candidate MUST have a background in retail technology and be able to combine retail knowledge and experience with technical understanding of retail systems, ideally with a network of contacts within the retail industry.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of complex IT solution consultancy-led sales in the retail sector whilst consistently achieving budgets and targets.
At Retail Directions the Technical Account Managers are responsible for managing all the account engagements and technical aspects of our relationship with our clients.
Technical Account Managers work closely with the business and executive team members within the client and prospective client organisations, to increase engagement and to expand the business by selling to prospective new clients
Whilst providing top-quality technical and business advice, Technical Account Managers are responsible for strengthening customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction, resulting in deeper engagement and revenue growth for Retail Directions.
Technical Account Managers will collaborate with the product development and consulting teams at Retail Directions, to customize and expand products to meet the needs of evolving markets and our individual clients.
Technical Account Managers must be able to demonstrate complex software products and explain concepts to clients and prospective clients to communicate how such products meet clients’ needs and how they can enhance their businesses.
Technical Account Manager ideally will have project management skills, and be able to put together installation programs that would minimize disruption for our clients.
Technical Account Managers must also monitor the progress of product installations to ensure that they are successful.
For existing clients, Technical Account Managers are responsible for overseeing ongoing support and regular verification that the clients continue to make effective use of the company’s products. This includes monitoring of support requests made by clients to identify any recurring issues and recommend changes to products.
Technical Account Managers hold regular review meetings with clients for discussions on any opportunities, problems and issues,
Technical Account Managers advise clients on upgrades or new products that may be suitable for their business.
Additionally, Technical Account Managers are required to:
- Provide business, leadership, technical, and product knowledge in support of the sales cycle.
- Address product-related questions and technical challenges within your client base.
- Become a trusted advisor at all levels within the client organization.
- Educate clients on how existing and new product features and functionality work, and how they can contribute to their business growth.
- Frequently conduct and coordinate reviews with client teams.
- Build relationships with decision makers, business contacts, and influencers.
- Perform monthly business reviews.
- Become the subject matter expert in the use of all Retail Directions products and services.
